'Either Naravane Or Penguin Is Lying': Rahul Gandhi Reacts To Publisher's Statement On Memoir
Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi responded to the FIR filed by Delhi Police regarding the alleged circulation of former Army Chief General MM Naravane’s unpublished memoir and the publisher Penguin Random House India’s clarification. Rahul questioned Penguin’s claim, pointing to Naravane’s tweets promoting the book and suggesting contradictions between the publisher and the former Army Chief. He alleged the book contained content inconvenient for the Government and Prime Minister. Union Minister Giriraj Singh demanded a privileged motion against Rahul, accusing him of deliberately disrupting the House. BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticised the opposition, calling the book’s circulation “unauthorised” and saying it disrespected the judiciary. The issue has intensified debates over the book’s status, parliamentary procedure, and political accountability.
