Grand Welcome To Dance Record: Indian Diaspora Gears Up For PM Modi's Malaysia Visit
The Indian community in Malaysia is gearing up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking his return after a decade. Diaspora members expressed pride, saying the visit will highlight their contributions and further strengthen India-Malaysia political, economic, and cultural ties. As part of the celebrations, around 800 dancers will attempt a Malaysia Book of Records entry at the ‘Selamat Datang Modiji’ event on February 7, 2026, at the MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre, performing a single, continuous five-minute choreographed piece featuring diverse Indian classical and folk dance forms. PM Modi’s two-day visit will also include bilateral talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, his first since India and Malaysia elevated relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024.
