HAL Clarifies AMCA Status, Says It Will Bid For India's Fifth-Generation Fighter Jet In 2035 Phase
Amid intense focus on India’s fifth-generation fighter jet project, HAL has drawn a firm line against reports claiming it has been pushed out of the AMCA programme. The aerospace major has confirmed it will bid for licence manufacturing when the next phase begins, even if it is not part of the prototype build. HAL says AMCA is a decade-long effort and manufacturing around 2035 will involve fresh competition. With financial evaluations still underway and no official word on shortlisting, HAL maintains that it remains very much in the race. Backed by a robust defence pipeline, strong revenue visibility till 2032, and parallel programmes like LCA Mk-2 and CATS, HAL is playing a long strategic game. For India, AMCA is about capability, autonomy, and scale. And HAL is not stepping aside.
