Indian Ships Shivalik And Nanda Devi Sail Through Hormuz, Head To Gujarat Ports Amid LPG Crisis

India received a crucial boost to its energy security as two LPG carriers successfully navigated the tense waters of the Strait of Hormuz. The vessels — Shivalik and Nanda Devi — are transporting about 92,700 tonnes of LPG and are now headed toward Mundra Port and Kandla Port. According to officials from the Ministry of Ports Shipping and Waterways, the ships crossed the strait early Saturday despite tensions in the Gulf region. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, with nearly one-fifth of global oil supplies moving through it daily. With more than 20 Indian vessels still in the Persian Gulf, authorities say the government is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of ships, crew members and vital energy supplies heading to India.
