‘Not Negotiated’: India Explains UN Statement on Israel’s West Bank Expansion
The Ministry of External Affairs on Friday clarified that the United Nations joint statement involving India was not a negotiated document related to Israel’s West Bank expansion. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India’s position had already been clearly outlined during the India-Arab League Ministerial meeting. He reiterated that New Delhi supports a sovereign, independent, and viable Palestine coexisting peacefully with Israel, reflecting its consistent backing of a two-state solution. The ministry also underlined the importance of adhering to the UN Charter in global diplomacy. The clarification comes amid scrutiny over India’s stance and reaffirms its balanced approach towards the Israel-Palestine issue in West Asia.
