Odisha Plane Crash: Nine-Seater Aircraft Crash-Lands Near Rourkela, 6 Injured

A small aircraft operated by IndiaOne Air crash-landed near Jalda, about 10–20 km from Rourkela, Odisha, on Saturday afternoon, leaving six people with minor injuries. The nine-seater Cessna Grand Caravan EX (VT-KSS), flying from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela, issued a Mayday call after encountering a technical snag and made an emergency landing in an open field around 13:20 IST. Onboard were four passengers and two crew members, all of whom are safe and have been taken to hospital. Odisha Commerce and Transport Minister B.B. Jena confirmed the incident, noting it was not a major accident. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed, and state officials will visit the site. IndiaOne Air, a Scheduled Commuter Operator based in Bhubaneswar, has been providing regional connectivity within Odisha and nearby states since 2022. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) will conduct further investigations into the forced landing.
