PM Modi Invokes Nehru To Accuse Congress Of Spreading Misinformation During US-Iran War Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Congress party during a public event in Guwahati, accusing it of spreading misinformation during the ongoing global crisis linked to conflicts in West Asia. In a pointed remark, the Prime Minister urged Congress leaders to listen to a speech by Jawaharlal Nehru, recalling how Nehru had once linked distant global conflicts to inflation in India. Modi argued that wars around the world can impact supply chains, fertiliser prices and agricultural costs. He said the government has worked to protect farmers and strengthen self reliance in agriculture despite global disruptions such as the pandemic and international conflicts. The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of spreading rumours about the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and criticised the party for what he described as false promises ahead of elections.
