Sunetra Pawar To Be Named NCP Leader, Dy CM Oath Likely Tomorrow: Chhagan Bhujbal
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will convene a meeting of its legislature party on January 31 to formally choose Sunetra Pawar as its leader, party leader and Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal said. Addressing reporters, Bhujbal stated that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed no objection to Sunetra Pawar being sworn in as deputy chief minister, subject to the legislature party’s decision. The position became vacant following the death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati. Bhujbal said there is strong support within the party for Sunetra Pawar’s appointment. He added that senior leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare are examining procedural and technical aspects, including the mourning period, before finalising the timeline for the oath-taking.
