'Symbols Of British Empire': PM Modi On North & South Block In 1st Address From Seva Teerth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex and Kartavya Bhavan 1 & 2, marking the relocation of the PMO from South Block after nearly 80 years. He described the inauguration as “a new history in the making,” reflecting the people’s aspirations and the government’s vision for “Viksit Bharat.” PM Modi emphasized that the new buildings move beyond the colonial-era North and South Blocks, which were symbols of the British Empire, and represent a citizen-centric, ground-connected approach. He highlighted that Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavans promote a modern work culture based on service and duty, replacing old, cramped, and dilapidated offices. The new complexes aim to support efficient governance and inspire confidence, embodying the aspirations of a self-reliant and progressive India.
