Tripura Teen Brutally Assaulted By Live-In Partner In Gurugram, Mother Recalls Chilling Phone Call

A 19-year-old student from Tripura has alleged that her live-in partner set her private parts on fire using sanitiser at their rented accommodation in Gurugram’s Sector 69. The victim’s mother claimed her daughter called her on February 16, saying she feared for her life and had been assaulted for three days. She alleged that the accused, identified as Shivam, confined her, physically tortured her, burnt her multiple times, and sexually assaulted her. The family’s lawyer also alleged that the medical examination confirmed rape but questioned why only minor injury charges were initially invoked in the FIR at Badshahpur police station. The lawyer termed the incident an attempt to murder and demanded stricter sections. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. Authorities said further details will emerge as the probe progresses.
