UAE Ambassador Slams Tehran Strikes, Says India’s Voice ‘Carries Weight’ In West Asia

Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to India, said India’s voice carries considerable influence in West Asia, particularly during the ongoing tensions involving Iran. In an interview with Asian News International, he welcomed Narendra Modi’s call for immediate de-escalation, stating that Tehran cannot afford to ignore New Delhi’s position. Alshaali stressed that the UAE evaluates actions rather than statements, noting that continued strikes despite diplomatic messaging remain a concern. He urged the United Nations Security Council to condemn the attacks and help prevent further escalation, adding that the UAE retains its right to defend its sovereignty while prioritising stability, diplomacy and peace.
