'Umar Bhar Yahi Bhool': Yogi Adityanath Quotes Mirza Ghalib In UP Assembly To Target SP's Record

A poetic couplet by Mirza Ghalib became the highlight of a fiery exchange in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath targeted the Samajwadi Party. Using the famous line about wiping the mirror while dust remains on the face, Yogi accused the opposition of ignoring its own governance record while blaming others. He said the state’s past reputation for fear and disorder did not happen overnight and was a result of earlier political culture. Responding to the Governor’s address debate, he defended his administration’s performance on development, security and welfare. Citing NITI Aayog figures, he said more than six crore people have risen above multidimensional poverty in eight years. Yogi assured that ration and welfare benefits will continue without discrimination. The exchange underlined the deep political divide as poetry met politics in the UP Assembly.
