Pakistan Women's Cricket Team Achieves Historic ODI Series Victory Over Zimbabwe
The Pakistan women's cricket team has achieved a significant milestone by sweeping the ODI series against Zimbabwe with a 3-0 victory. This success has propelled them to the second position in the ICC Women's Championship standings for 2025-29, trailing only behind New Zealand, according to the ICC.
Record-Breaking Achievements
In addition to their largest ODI win, a remarkable 206-run victory in the second match, the team witnessed Gull Feroza's outstanding performance, as she scored a century in the third ODI. This achievement makes her the second female cricketer from Pakistan to hit consecutive ODI centuries. Feroza also set a new record for the fastest ODI century by a Pakistani woman, reaching the milestone in just 83 balls.
Throughout the series, Feroza and Sadaf Shamas combined for a total of 571 runs, marking the highest partnership in a bilateral ODI series.
Praise from Team Mentor
Wahab Riaz, the mentor of the Pakistan women's team, commended the players for their teamwork and dedication. He emphasized that the series victory was a result of collective effort rather than individual performances. Riaz stated, "The performances have been exceptional in this series. It's not just one person who leads to victory; it's the entire team working together. Everyone has put in hard work, and that is what matters most, regardless of the outcomes. The way you played was truly impressive, so congratulations to all."
Upcoming T20I Series
Looking ahead, Pakistan is set to face Zimbabwe in a T20I series starting on May 12. The team aims to maintain their winning streak as they prepare for the T20 World Cup.
