Actor Amit Behl recently appeared on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube podcast, where he spoke about working with Akshaye Khanna years ago. During the conversation, he remembered a shocking incident that happened on the set of a film and how Akshaye reacted strongly after witnessing it.
According to Amit, a character actor who was staying at a different hotel, had come to the hotel where the film’s lead cast and crew members were staying. The actor reportedly joined the lunch buffet and had just started eating when someone from the production team approached him.
He shared, "The moment this actor had his first bite at the hotel’s lunch buffet, the producer’s wife or some relative noticed that he didn’t belong there and said he shouldn’t be eating that food. Just as he had begun, someone from production came over and said, ‘Sir, you can’t eat this.’ He was hurt and quietly kept the plate aside and sat by himself."

Amit Behl revealed that Akshaye Khanna had noticed the entire incident from a distance. Known for being a quiet and reserved person on sets, Akshaye reportedly could not control his anger after seeing the actor being insulted over food.
He recalled that Dhurandhar actor immediately stepped in and openly scolded the people involved, including members of the production team and even the producer. According to him, Akshaye delivered a passionate speech about hunger, dignity and respect.
"He said, ‘A film doesn’t get made by the number of plates or how much food you have; it is made by the blessings of people.’ It really looked like a man who hardly speaks had finally unleashed the volcano within him.”
