Jaipur: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Jaipur has achieved a significant milestone by apprehending a passenger at Jaipur International Airport. This individual was found in possession of 10 kilograms and 385 grams of hydroponic cannabis (weed), marking a crucial operation against an international drug trafficking network.

Based on intelligence reports, the DRI was alerted about a passenger arriving at Jaipur Airport with a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics. Acting on this information, the DRI team was on high alert. The arrested individual hails from Delhi and arrived in Jaipur via Bangkok (Thailand) and Dubai. Upon landing, the DRI team swiftly detained him.

Officials stated that this operation was entirely based on confidential intelligence. The team conducted profiling of the passenger and discovered the narcotic substance during a search of his belongings.

Valuable Hydroponic Cannabis in International Market
The seized hydroponic cannabis is estimated to have a high value in the international market. Reports indicate that the price for one kilogram of hydroponic cannabis is approximately ₹1 crore. Therefore, the total value of the confiscated 10 kilograms and 385 grams of cannabis is assessed to exceed ₹10 crores. The attempt to smuggle such a large quantity of narcotics has surprised authorities.

Legal Proceedings and Security Measures
The DRI promptly informed the police and relevant authorities about this operation. The arrested suspect was presented in court on Monday, where he was remanded to judicial custody. The DRI is continuing its investigation to identify other individuals involved in this international drug trafficking ring.
