Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, has sparked controversy with a comment made during FOX's broadcast of the Bears' 31-14 victory over the Cowboys. During the fourth quarter, as Dak Prescott's pass was intercepted by Tremaine Edmunds following a fumble by George Pickens, Brady attempted to explain Pickens' furious reaction.

However, his comparison of helmet slamming to "the dog at home" ignited a social media firestorm. "Those helmets can be... like a dog at home. Kick the dog, throw the helmet. Whatever it takes," Brady casually remarked, causing an immediate uproar online.

Within moments, clips of the broadcast were circulating widely on social media. One fan commented, "Tom Brady out here suggesting he kicks dogs at home during the Chicago Bears game."

Another queried: "Kick the dog, throw the helmet, whatever it takes. Is Tom Brady abusing dogs in his home?" A third added, "Tom Brady comparing a player slamming his helmet in anger to kicking your dog at home isn't the colour commentary I was expecting."

Brady had several dogs with his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, before their divorce in 2022. They had been married for 13 years.

The couple were known to have at least four dogs: Lua, a pitbull who has since passed away; Scooby, a beagle; Fluffy, a terrier; and Onyx. The latter was often featured on Brady's Instagram during his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In a dramatic turn of events, Edmunds intercepted Prescott's pass intended for Jalen Tolbert with less than five minutes remaining, resulting in a touchback. To add insult to injury, backup quarterback Jaylen Milton was intercepted by Kevin Byard with just 58 seconds left on the clock.

These three interceptions in the final quarter sealed Dallas' fate, leaving Pickens understandably frustrated.

Pickens ended the game with five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown after being targeted nine times. His performance was second only to tight end Jake Ferguson.

The Cowboys' wide receiver was already on the NFL's fine list, although it was not specified whether he would face further punishment for his actions.

Just last week, he was fined $14,491 for a 'violent motion' during a touchdown celebration and another $14,491 for removing his helmet before exiting the Giants game. Despite no flags being thrown during the game, the fines were still imposed.

Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, has now thrown three touchdowns and three interceptions in the first three games, leading to a 1-2 record for the team. Meanwhile, Chicago's defence secured three late-game takeaways, turning what was once a close game into a decisive victory, improving their record to 2-1.
