Trump says he's considering selling F-35 jets to Saudi Arabia
United States President Donald Trump has revealed that he is considering a deal to sell F-35 stealth fighter jets to Saudi Arabia.
"They wanna buy a lot of jets," Trump said while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.
The jets, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, are being considered for purchase by the Middle Eastern country.
Trump to host Saudi Crown Prince next week
The potential sale of the fighter jets comes as President Trump is set to host Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House next week.
During this visit, economic and defense agreements are expected to be signed between the two nations.
When asked about these talks, Trump said it was "more than meeting, we're honoring" Saudi Arabia.
Trump hopes Saudi Arabia will join Abraham Accords
President Trump also expressed hope that Saudi Arabia would soon join the Abraham Accords, which have normalized relations between Israel and Muslim-majority nations.
However, Riyadh has resisted such a step without an agreement on a roadmap to Palestinian statehood.
The Pentagon recently issued an intelligence report raising concerns that a potential F-35 deal could lead to China acquiring the aircraft's technology.
