From litter-strewn streets to garbage-choked water bodies, India often battles with public cleanliness. But now, a viral video from Canada has pushed the conversation beyond borders raising eyebrows, tempers, and a lot of online chatter.

The clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Kirk Lubimov, shows several people allegedly Indians bathing with soap at a lake in Brampton. The scene unfolds right on the shoreline, foam and all, as stunned onlookers record. Lubimov’s caption read, “Canada's beaches are turning to baths for foreigners. Canada's transformation to a 3rd world country happening daily.”

The video quickly sparked outrage from locals. Comments poured in, with some calling for police action. “Brampton!!! I am sick of this shit happening in our country, our waters are not your bathtub, we swim in these waters. @CityBrampton this needs full attention, this is our clean swimming beaches, and they are destroying it, charges need to be laid. The video is also online,” one user fumed. Another wrote, “I thought it was forbidden to do that. Soap is polluting the water.”

Lubimov himself doubled down, hinting that the group’s behaviour reflected how they treated water 'back home.' One commenter, an Indian, even admitted they would have called the cops.

But the post also triggered pushback. Critics accused it of racial bias, questioning why 'brown people' in the video were assumed to be Indian. Some noted that even a white woman in the clip was labelled Indian.

While the debate has taken a cultural turn, one point stands firm soap and open water don’t mix well. The incident has reignited conversations about pollution, personal responsibility, and respecting local rules, no matter where you are.
