Actress Madhu Shah made her Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgan with 'Phool Aur Kaante'. A few years ago she had stated that she did not want to play the role of Ajay Devgan's mother. She had said that if she was ever given the role of Ajay Devgan's mother, she would refuse because she is also of his age. Now the actress has openly talked about her statement in her recent interview and admitted that now she is ready to play the role of Ajay Devgan's mother.

'I have grown as an actor'

Madhu said in an interview with Zoom TV that she has matured as an actress and she will take such a role as a challenge. Clarifying his statement, Madhu said, "That statement was taken in the wrong context." I said that if hypothetically... I am correcting myself now because I have grown as an actor.

'I realized within 2-3 years'

Madhu further said, “I had given that statement 2-3 years ago, in a different context. In 2-3 years I realized that I have played many different types of roles. I played the character of an Apsara in 'Shakuntalam' with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. So when I play a role as an actor, I am enjoying the freedom of being an actor today.

'There are a lot of great opportunities coming up'

Madhu further said, “In the 90s we were in a groove. We used to romance, sing songs, and dance, but now with OTT there is a story, and there is content. I think the old tradition has been broken. There are so many great opportunities coming for every actor.

'I will take it as a challenge as an actor'

Madhu said, "So, today I am thinking as an actor that if I get a role where they say you have to look older than Ajay Devgan and play his mother, then I will. I will take it as a challenge as an actor. If I get a role in which I have to play the mother of an older lead actor, I will look at it as a challenge and not as a gender discrimination, controversy, or that kind of conversation."

Made debut with Ajay Devgan in 'Phool Aur Kaante'

Let us tell you that Madhu made her Bollywood debut in 1991 in the film 'Phool Aur Kaante' opposite Ajay Devgan. This film was also the debut film of Ajay Devgan. Before Bollywood, Madhu had debuted her acting career with a Tamil film. Along with Bollywood, Madhu has also worked extensively in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films.
