Everything Apple announced at the 'Let Loose' event: iPad Pro with M4 chip, two new iPad Air, and more

Apple just wrapped up its first event of the year, Let Loose . Even though it was relatively short, at 38 minutes, Apple announced a bunch of new things, including a couple of new iPads and a next-gen chip. Here’s all that Apple announced at today’s event.

New iPad Pros with OLED screen, M4 chip , and a price hike

The new iPad Pro models come with vibrant OLED screens, a powerful M4 chip, and a sleek design. The Pro model comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, with the larger model being slightly bigger than before. Under the hood, the iPad Pro models feature Apple's latest M4 chip, built on second-generation 3nm technology. The new models also come with an increased base storage of 256GB and support for the new Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard. However, these upgrades come at a premium, with the 11-inch model starting at Rs 99,900 and the 13-inch model starting at Rs 1,29,900, making them the most expensive iPads to date.

iPad Air now comes in two sizes with an upgraded chip

iPad Air, which was earlier only available in 11-inch, now also comes in a more significant 13-inch screen option, and both of them have a Liquid Retina XDR. Powered by the M2 chip, the Air has also received an entry storage bump, now having at least 256GB. The camera on the front is being moved to the longer side, so that one can use it horizontally. There’s still no FaceID, though. The colours have also been refreshed, adding new blue, purple, and gold shades. With all the upgrades, the price remains the same, starting at Rs 59,900.

M4 chip, the newest Apple Silicon with a focus on AI

Packed with 28 billion transistors and built on the new 3-nanometer technology, the M4 promises to deliver 10x the performance of the original iPad Pro, a turbo-charged 10-core CPU, and a 10-core GPU that brings ray tracing and mesh shading to the iPad for the first time. But that's not all – the M4 also boasts Apple's most powerful Neural Engine ever, capable of crunching an astonishing 38 trillion operations per second, making it an AI powerhouse that leaves the competition in the dust.

A new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro

For the new iPad Pros, Apple has a new Magic Keyboard that turns the iPad into a MacBook. An iPad couldn’t be similar to a MacBook, a MacBook, as the new Magic Keyboard comes with a premium aluminium body, a spacious trackpad, and a handy function row, just like how MacBook’s keyboard is . It comes in a choice of silver or space black. The 11-inch version will set you back Rs 29,900, while the 13-inch version comes with a hefty Rs 33,900 price tag.

Pro Pencil for the Pro users: the Apple Pencil Pro

Apple has taken the Apple Pencil to the next level with the all-new Apple Pencil Pro. With a new sensor that can detect your squeezes, a haptic engine that gives you a satisfying tap when you make a move, and a gyroscope that lets you roll the pencil to control your tools. And if you're the forgetful type, don't worry – the Apple Pencil Pro has your back with Find My support, so you can track it down if it ever wanders off. The new Apple Pencil Pro will cost you a pretty penny at Rs 11,900, and it only works with the latest iPads.

Apple’s creative suite gets plenty of updates

Apple has a supercharged Final Cut Pro for iPad and Mac with AI. Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 turns your iPad into a multicam production powerhouse with Live Multicam, letting you capture and control up to four camera angles at once using the new Final Cut Camera app. It also supports external projects for even more flexibility. On the Mac side, Final Cut Pro 10.8 brings AI-driven tools like Enhance Light and Colour for one-click video enhancements and Smooth Slo-Mo for ultra-smooth slow-motion effects. Plus, with custom naming for colour corrections and effects, and an improved timeline index, your post-production workflow just got a whole lot smoother.
