Firozabad: Teen couple found hanging from tree
Agra: A young couple, missing for three days, was found hanging from a tree in Akalpur village of Firozabad district on Monday morning.
The victims were identified as Anil Lodhi (19) and Lalita Lodhi (16), both residents of Nagla Khana village.
Police claimed that the teenagers committed suicide as their families were against their decision to get married.
They added that the girl’s parents had even fixed her marriage with another man against her wishes.
Speaking to TOI, Umar Farooq, station house officer of Matsena, said, “Anil and Lalita knew each other for a long time. The couple wanted to get married but Lalita’s parents had fixed her alliance with someone else. She was reported missing on Friday.” “Their bodies were recovered on Monday. The couple even left a suicide note stating that they were left with no other option,” he added.

This is the 51st such couple suicide in western Uttar Pradesh in 26 months.
