Flying drones banned in Haryana's Rohtak

Rohtak: A day after girl students of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) residing in hostels complained of drones flying during night and clicking their pictures, the deputy commissioner, RS Verma, has banned the drones in the district with immediate effect.

On Thursday, several hostel residents of the university had lodged a formal complaint to varsity authorities to take action as they panicked after spotting flying drones above their hostels recording their personal activities.



DC Verma, on Saturday, while exercising his power under section 144 of the CrPC, banned flying of drones, remote-controlled aircraft, flying cameras, coward copter, helicam and aerial coverage “which may lead to serious law and order situation”.

He also ordered a probe into the MDU girls hostel incident to find out the truth and whose negligence led to this situation. He said the probe would help him know about the culprit behind it.
