GCI thump SRIK by 187 runs in SPCT Cup

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Cricket Institute thumped Senior Railway Institute of Kankariya ( SRIK ) by 187 runs in the ninth match of the Sports Promotors Charitable Trust (SPCT) U-14 Cricket Tournament , being played at the SPCT Cricket Ground.

Asked to bat first, Samarth Patel’s 115 (off 106b; 19x4) and Vaarish Katiyar’s 132 (off 121b; 4x19) propelled Gujarat Cricket Institute to 308/3 in 50 overs.

Off spinners Rushal (1/29) and Vyom Joshi (1/43) bagged a wicket wicket each for SRIK.

In reply, SRIK were bowled out for 121 in 31.4 overs. Dishant Parmar made 24. Left-arm spinner Nahin Shukla (4/18) and pacer Vyom Patel (2/3) wrecked havoc. Samarth too bagged a wicket giveing away four runs, as Gujarat Cricket Insititute triumphed by 187 runs.

This was the second straight defeat for SRIK who were thrashed by M Power Colts by 321 runs on Monday.

Arnav Yadav’s 151 (off 141 Balls; 26x4) and Dhananjay Upadhyay’s 64 (off 69 balls; 10x4) powered M Power Colts to 350/4 in 50 overs.

In reply, SRIK Batting were skittled out 21 in 11.5 overs. Rudra Dabhi (3/6) and Kathit Mehta (2/9) broke the backbone of SRIK. tnn
