IU Contributes 200 Million KRW to Provide Relief For Wildfire Victims and Support Firefighters

South Korean singer and actress IU (Lee Ji Eun) has once again proven her generosity by stepping forward to aid wildfire victims. On March 26, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association announced that IU donated a total of 200 million KRW (~136,248 USD) to support both the affected communities and the brave firefighters battling the disaster.

Her contribution was split equally—100 million KRW (~68,124 USD) for wildfire relief efforts and another 100 million KRW to improve the working conditions and recognition of firefighters dedicated to disaster response.

Expressing her deep concern, IU shared, "I hope this can provide even a small amount of help to those affected, and I extend my deepest condolences to the victims. I sincerely wish for the wildfire to be contained as soon as possible without further casualties." She also expressed her gratitude, saying, "I deeply appreciate the dedication of the firefighters working tirelessly to control the fire."

We will do our utmost to ensure her generous contribution reaches the affected communities and frontline responders."

Established in 1961, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association specializes in disaster relief efforts, including emergency response, fundraising, and support for vulnerable populations. Over the years, the organization has raised 1.6 trillion KRW (~1.09 billion USD) and distributed more than 60 million relief supplies to those in need.
