DAY6 : Soaring High on Their Ninth Anniversary.

As DAY6 marks nine years since their debut on September 7, the South Korean pop-rock band is hitting new milestones and climbing charts like never before. Founded by JYP Entertainment in 2015, DAY6—comprising Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon—has always infused their music with a personal touch, blending melancholy and hope in a way that resonates globally.

Their recent mini-album, Band Aid, released on September 2, has been a game-changer. The title track, “Melt Down,” quickly made waves, topping the MelOn Charts within just three hours of its release, becoming the fifth fastest song to do so. All songs from Band Aid entered MelOn’s TOP100 within an hour, and the album itself soared to #1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in nine regions worldwide.

On September 3, “Melt Down” achieved a Real-Time All-Kill, reaching the top of major charts like MelOn, Genie, Flo, and Bugs—joining only IU’s “Love Wins All” as a 2024 release to achieve this within 24 hours. It also made DAY6 the first JYP act to top the MelOn Daily Chart since TWICE's "MORE & MORE" in 2020. In a remarkable show of dominance, DAY6 has multiple tracks in MelOn’s TOP100, with several in the top 10.

Not stopping there, DAY6’s “HAPPY” from their March release, FOUREVER , achieved a Real-Time All-Kill on September 15, making DAY6 the only artist in 2024 with multiple All-Kill tracks. “HAPPY” climbed to #1 on the MelOn Daily Chart after nearly six months, marking DAY6 as the first and only act with multiple #1s on this chart this year. The track also hit #2 on the YouTube Music Korea chart.

In a historic achievement, DAY6 became the first band since HYUKOH in 2015 to hold the top two spots on the MelOn Weekly Chart with “Melt Down” and “HAPPY.” Meanwhile, their debut track “Congratulations” is making a comeback, climbing to #55 on the MelOn Daily Chart.

Adding to their accolades, DAY6 is set to make history as the first Korean band to hold a concert at Gocheok Sky Dome. With their latest album, sold-out tours, and impressive chart dominance, DAY6 is truly in their golden era, both commercially and artistically.
