Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ Hits OTT Platforms: Where To Watch Details Inside

Nearly two months after its theatrical release, Shah Rukh Khan ’s much-anticipated film “ Dunki ” has finally made its way to the digital realm. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial is now available for streaming on Netflix. The announcement was made via Netflix India’s official Instagram handle, where they shared an enticing poster of the film. The caption on the poster reads, “Pack your bags! After a Dunki around the world, @iamsrk is coming home ❤️ Dunki, now streaming on Netflix!”

Dunki, released on December 21st, portrays the emotional voyage of a circle of friends aspiring to relocate overseas. The narrative unfolds the adventurous path of those opting for the unconventional Donkey Flight, highlighting the challenges they encounter along the way. Alongside SRK, the film features Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in significant roles. It garnered a remarkable box office revenue of over Rs 300 crore in India.

Despite the film garnering positive feedback overall, during an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Rajkumar Hirani disclosed that SRK was convinced that while the comedy-drama would be well-received, it wouldn't achieve the same box office success as action-packed films like Jawan and Pathaan.

“He had always told me not to expect huge numbers at the box office initially. He knew it was a slow burner and the audience and family would eventually lap up to the film and start coming in. More than anyone, he was preparing me and that is what exactly happened. We have seen many families coming together to theatres to watch the film,” he told us.

Last month, Box Office Worldwide speculated that "Dunki" could potentially be submitted for Academy Awards consideration. Although there's no official confirmation yet, if this speculation materializes, it would mark Shah Rukh Khan's third film to be submitted for Oscar nominations. Previously, his movies "Swades" (2004) and "Paheli" (2005) were also submitted for the prestigious awards.
