Google Pixel 8a is officially launched in India and just like its other smartphones, the company is bringing a bunch of AI-powered features on the most affordable Pixel 8 series handset. The smartphone is powered by Google Tensor G3 SoC – the same chipset that is responsible for handling AI tasks on the flagship Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8.
Priced at Rs 52,999, the Pixel 8a is packed with AI-powered tools to make the most out of photos and videos.

- Best Take: Best Take was introduced with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro series of smartphones to customise group photos. The feature takes into account multiple shots taken in the same setting, and allows users to choose what they think is the best expression for everyone in the photo. Users can tap the desired expression from a series of available options provided by the smartphone.
Magic Editor : Magic Editor allows users to reposition and resize subjects or use presets to make the background pop. One must backup the photo before using it and Google uses AI to fill the gaps left after a subject is removed or repositioned. Audio Magic Eraser : Audio Magic Eraser allows users to edit the audio in a video by allowing them to remove distracting sounds — like wind, crowds and other noises — for crisp and clear sound output. For example, if you are vlogging in a busy lane in Chandni Chowk, you can use Audio Magic Eraser to enhance your voice and subdue the chatter of people around you.
Pixel 8a also includes Super Res Zoom up to 8x. A bunch of machine learning algorithms contribute to Super Res Zoom that aligns and merges images from multiple cameras to provide a clear result. Magic Eraser: Launched with Google Pixel 6 series, the feature allows users to remove distracting elements from a photo for a cleaner, better result. The feature uses AI to fill the gap left by the objects that have been removed. Night Sight : Another feature that got AI-treatment is Night Sight that uses AI to reduce noise and enhance the photo by filling it with light.
Photo Unblur : Probably one of the most loved AI features in Google Pixel smartphones, Photo Unblur enables users to sharpen any photo by using AI. Pixel 8a includes Real Tone to accurately represent everyone’s skin tone in photos and videos. Along with these AI-powered tools and features, Google Pixel 8a also comes with Gemini, Google's built-in AI assistant, to help users type, talk and add images for various tasks. For example, Circle to Search enables users to quickly find information without switching apps.
