Gudur temple group EO held with assets worth Rs 50 crore

Vijayawada: Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB ) sleuths conducted raids and unearthed disproportionate assets worth more than Rs 50 crore from an executive officer of Gudur group of temples in Kurnool district on Thursday. The accused was identified as Pottipati Chiranjeevi Ramprasad, a grade-one executive officer.



The raid was conducted at Ramprasad’s properties in Adoni town. It was discovered that he owns five houses, 21 house sites and four agricultural lands at various places in Kurnool. Some of the high-valued assets under his possession include a G+3 house in Adoni town, a G+1 house in Mandageri and a one acre land in Kowthalam mandal. Ramprasad had registered most of the properties in names of his wife P Laxmidevi and daughters Shashikala and Ashalatha.

Officials also seized Rs 12 lakh in cash, fixed deposits worth Rs 15.46 lakh, 350g of gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh and promissory notes valued at Rs 28.6 lakh. Overall document value of the assets is Rs 2.23 crore while sources peg the market value to be over Rs 50 crore.

Ramprasand entered government service in 1990 and worked in Rayalaseema districts as executive officer. Officials registered a case against Ramprasad and arrested him. He will be produced before the ACB court.
