Gujarat: Lioness mauls farmer

RAJKOT: Mauled by a lioness in Dodhi Ness in Hadala range of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, a farmer was seriously injured on Sunday. Forest officials confirmed Kalu Mori (35) of being attacked by the lioness. “However, he was rescued by his brother Nana Mori and taken to Una Civil Hospital and from where he was later shifted to Junagadh Civil Hospital,” a forest official said.

“The villagers said the lioness which appeared to be agitated, tried to attack every human who crossed her path. We are in the process of setting up a cage to trap the animal,” the official added.
