Haryana: Man honeytraps friend for demanding money back, tries to extort Rs 10 lakh to settle 'rape' case

Rohtak: It's a classic example of money turning friends into enemies. In a shocking case, a man allegedly framed his banker friend in a false rape case for demanding his money given as loan.

The accused also tried to extort money from the banker to settle the case. Meanwhile, Rohtak police have busted the gang of three persons trying to blackmail the bank employee.

According to a report in Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, the incident took place in Charkhi Dadri district where a man along with his wife and her aunt honey-trapped him and framed in a 'false' rape case.

On Wednesday, police have arrested the accused red-handed while taking extortion of Rs 5 lakh from the bank staff.

The wife and another woman are still absconding. According to the police, the woman contacted the police control room complaining that she was raped. After the woman's complaint, a case of rape was registered against the youth under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The youth works at a private bank in Rohtak. After a case was filed against him, the victim approached Rohtak SP informing him that he had lent Rs 80,000 to a man and when he demanded the money back he was framed in a false rape case by his wife and aunt.

He told police that the accused was demanding Rs 10 lakh to settle the case and he was to give the first installment of Rs 5 lakh on Wednesday.

Later, the Superintendent of Police formed a team and sent it along with the youth to handover the money to the accused.

The cops caught the accused when he came to take the delivery of the money. Police have filed a case against the accused at Arya Nagar police station. Police say they are probing the case.
