Haryana student gets first rank in VITEEE

Chennai: Vellore Institute of Technology Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2024 results were declared on Monday. Rupinder Singh from Haryana got the first rank while Bhanu Mahesh Chekuri from Rajasthan got the second rank. A Vedaanth from Andhra Pradesh secured the third rank.

The online entrance test for B Tech admissions was conducted in 125 cities from April 19 to 30.

Applicants within one lakh ranks are eligible to participate in the counselling for admission to B Tech programmes of VIT Group of Institutions — VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT AP and VIT Bhopal.

“The phase 1 counselling for candidates who secured ranks from 1 to 20,000 will be held from May 7 to 10; phase 2 counselling for ranks 20,001 to 45,000 will be held from May 18 to 21; phase 3 for ranks 45,001 to 70,000 from May 29 to June 1 while phase 4 counselling will be held for ranks 70,001 to 1,00,000 from June 9 to 12,” a release from VIT said. Candidates with ranks above one lakh are eligible for counselling to B Tech programmes of VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal only. Phase 5 counselling for these ranks will be held from June 20 to 23. “Candidates with top VITEEE ranks will be given scholarship for all for years; for ranks one to 10 will be given 100% tuition fee waiver; ranks from 11 to 50 will be given 75%; ranks from 51 to 100 will be given 50% and ranks from 101 to 500 will be given 25% tuition fee waiver,” the release said.

The district toppers from all districts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh who had studied in govt schools in rural areas will be given 100% tuition fee waiver and exemption from hostel and mess fees under the STARS (Support The Advancement of Rural Students) scheme.

Applications for various three-year undergraduate programmes, four-year BSc Hons. (agriculture), B Arch, B Des (industrial design) and five-year integrated programmes are also open.
