CISCE Declares ICSE and ISC 2025 Results: Over 99% Pass Rate, Girls Lead, Southern Region Excels

New Delhi, April 30, 2025 — The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially announced the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examination results for the academic year 2024–25, with both exams recording over 99% pass rates. The results continue to underscore the academic strength and growing inclusivity of the CISCE system, with girls outperforming boys

and the Southern region once again leading in regional performance metrics.

Exceptional Overall Results: ICSE at 99.09%, ISC at 99.02%

The ICSE exams saw 252,557 candidates, of whom 99.09% passed. The ISC exams had 99,551 students, recording a 99.02% pass rate. These results reflect continued high performance, with pass percentages nearly identical to last year’s figures.

• Girls outshone boys in both streams:

  • ICSE: Girls 99.37%, Boys 98.84%

  • ISC: Girls 99.45%, Boys 98.64%

Regional Rankings: South and West Continue to Dominate

The Southern and Western regions maintained their traditional stronghold in academic results:

• ICSE:

  • Western Region: 99.83%

  • Southern Region: 99.73%

• ISC:

  • Southern Region: 99.76%

  • Western Region: 99.72%

• Foreign candidates in ISC achieved a 100% pass rate

The Northern region had the highest student participation, especially from states such as Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab

, and Madhya Pradesh.

Strong Gender Representation and Participation

In ICSE:

• Boys: 134,700 (53.33%)

• Girls: 117,857 (46.67%)

In ISC:

• Boys: 52,339 (52.58%)

• Girls: 47,212 (47.42%)

Despite a slightly lower participation rate, girls consistently outperformed boys in both exams.

Commitment to Diversity: Subjects, Languages, and Inclusion

CISCE’s curriculum reflects linguistic and academic diversity:

• ICSE included 67 subjects, with 20 Indian languages, 14 foreign languages, and 1 classical language.

• ISC offered 47 subjects, with 12 Indian, 4 foreign, and 2 classical languages.

Performance by Marginalized and Special Categories

Students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) posted strong performances:

• ICSE:

  • SC: 98.71%

  • ST: 97.28%

  • OBC: 99.13%

• ISC:

  • SC: 98.57%

  • ST: 98.67%

  • OBC: 99.06%

Candidates with learning and physical difficulties also excelled:

• ICSE:

  • 1,184 students with learning difficulties; 112 scored above 90%

48 visually challenged students; 13 scored above 90%

ISC:

• 257 students with learning difficulties; 29 scored above 90%

• 17 visually challenged students; 6 scored above 90%

CISCE Expands Its Academic Reach

This year, CISCE registered participation from:

• 2,803 schools for ICSE

• 1,460 schools for ISC
