Holi special train between Barauni and Secunderbad from March 18

PATNA: The East Central Railway (ECR) will run a Holi special train (07151/07152) between Barauni and Secunderbad to cope with the rush of passengers during the festival.


“The train will leave Secunderabad at 7.50pm on March 18 (Monday) and reach Barauni on Wednesday at 12.30pm. On its return journey, it will leave Barauni on March 22 (Friday) and reach Secunderabad at 11.55pm on Saturday,” said ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar on Saturday and added the train would run via the Mokama-Patna-Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction-Allahabad-Satna-Katni-Nagpur route with a load combination of 18 coaches.



Meanwhile, ECR’s general manager (GM) L C Trivedi inspected the Barauni-Muzaffarpur-Sonepur route on Friday. He took stock of the safety measures being taken at all roadside stations and railway crossing gates falling under the Sonepur division of the ECR.

Earlier, the GM had inspected the Dhanbad division on Thursday and directed the railway officials concerned to make sure that foolproof safety was provided to all the passengers.

Railways diverts three pairs of trains: The railways has diverted the routes of at least three pairs of mail and express trains running via the Varanasi-Pratapgarh-Raebareli-Lucknow route due to non-interlocking (NI) work being carried out at the Raebareli station under Lucknow division of the Northern Railway (NR) till March 19. The diverted trains are Puri-Anand Vihar Neelachal Express (12875/12876), Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Jammu Tawi Archana Express (12355/12356) and Howrah-Amritsar Express (13005/13006).

“While the Puri-Anand Vihar Neelachal Express has been diverted via the Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction-Allahabad-Kanpur route on the mainline section, the Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Jammu Tawi Archana Express has been diverted via the Varanasi-Faizabad-Lucknow route. The Howrah-Amritsar Express has been diverted via the Pratapgarh-Sultanpur-Lucknow route,” the CPRO said.
