II PU exam-2: 1.5 lakh students to appear again in Karnataka from today

MANGALURU: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced that a total of 1.5 lakh candidates are set to retake the II PUC exam across the state, commencing from April 29.

The highest number of registrations is in the science and arts streams, with a significant portion of students hailing from Bengaluru North and South.
Across all streams, male students outnumber their female counterparts in terms of registration. KSEAB has made all necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.

For science candidates, the exam holds importance for their CET rankings, especially for those who lost marks or performed poorly in the physics and chemistry exams. Many science students aim to improve their scores to secure better rankings in the CET, while arts and commerce students seek to enhance their performance for admission into reputed colleges. N Manjushree, chairperson of KSEAB, told TOI: "The reason is some students have lost marks in the physics exam due to out-of-syllabus questions. Also, whoever appeared for CET is writing the exam again to improve their marks."
