India, Sweden Discuss Sustainability, Trade & Innovation

New Delhi: Sweden and India strengthened their bilateral corporation in trade, innovation, technology and sustainability on Friday at Stockholm at a foreign office consultation that offers a chance to assess advancements in bilateral partnership and talk about the cooperation future agenda.
India and Sweden emphasised the significance of giving new, developing technologies like semiconductor, green steel and green batteries top priority.

In addition, they discussed cyber security and counter terrorism while discussing the security of both the nations. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) during a news conference they also decided to look into different cooperative ties in the defence industry.
The conference was presided over by Jane Knutsson, state secretary of Sweden’s ministry of Foreign affairs and Pawan Kapoor, Secretary(west) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The official expressed appreciation for the strong and quickly expanding economic links between India and Sweden at the meeting. He also highlighted the significance of the India-Sweden Innovation Bridge, India-Sweden Innovation Day, and India-Sweden Sustainability Day, calling them "important steps" towards improving business-to-business relations.

In the press release MEA said" Both sides welcomed the progress in all areas of bilateral cooperation and deliberated on the way forward in priority sectors of innovation and sustainability, trade and investment and stressed on needs to focus on new emerging technologies like semiconducter and green battery."

“ The contribution of lead IT under India Sweden industry Transition Partnership in combating climate change found a special mention. Additionally, the parties discussed security aspects such as cyber security and counter terrorism, and agreed to explore potential collaboration in the defence sector.”

In the Press Release they also stated “ They exchange views on cooperation in the reform of the UNSC especially in the build up to the summit of the future.

The two sides agreed that there is a big Indian community in Sweden, which they acknowledge is important and acts as a vital link between the two countries.
