INX Media case: ED may seek custody of P. Chidambaram today
New Delhi: The judicial custody of former finance minister and veteran Congress leader P. Chidambaram ends today on September 19. After which he will be presented in court once again. P. Chidambaram was sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the court which is going to end today. Chidambaram is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in INX Media case.

If the ED does not demand his custody today, his judicial custody may increase. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) can demand the custody of Chidambaram after his judicial custody is over. But if this is not done, then Chidambaram can be sent to Tihar Jail in judicial custody. After which his bail plea will be heard on 23 September in Delhi High Court. P Chidambaram and his lawyer would like the ED to take him into custody. Because if this happens, Chidambaram will not have to stay in jail.

Earlier, Chidambaram was also requested to surrender before the ED. But the court rejected Chidambaram's surrender petition.
