KL Rahul and Sanju Samson will walk into the Ekana Stadium on Saturday night looking to outdo each other in the battle of the heavyweights. The 44th game of the IPL 2024 season marks the second meeting of Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals this season. 

Lucknow Super Giants yet again proved why they are being touted as one of the favourites for the title this year. The 124 not-out from Marcus Stoinis will long be remembered as one of the best knocks in the IPL to defeat Chennai Super Kings in their own home turf.

Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals coasted to an easy win against a hapless-looking Mumbai Indians on Monday. Sandeep Sharma with his first IPL fifer and Yashasvi Jaiswal with his cracking century were the men who engineered the easy win. That huge win also meant that RR extended their lead at the top of the table to become favourites for the playoffs.

The two former Mumbai Indians teammates have had a lot of battles with each other across the world. Both the players share mutual respect for each other as Trent Boult in particular knows how dangerous Quinton De Kock is with the bat in this format of the game. The South African left-handed batter has been a key batter for LSG this season in the first 6 overs. 

Trent Boult has made it a habit of dismissing the opposition's top order in the first few overs of the game. The Kiwi pacer has demonstrated good skills with the new ball and has been a thorn in many teams' flesh. In just two games New Zealand star Matt Henry has ingrained himself as a key bowler for LSG. The 32-year-old has been economical with the new ball and also given his side the much-needed control during the powerplay overs.
