Irate bank customer takes away CPU, manager files plaint

An angry customer whose netbanking and mobile banking connections were allegedly not activated took away the CPU from nationalised bank’s Makarba branch on Monday. He returned it on Wednesday. The bank’s branch manager has filed complaint against him at the Anandnagar police station.

According to complaint filed by Bank of Baroda Branch Manager Vinit Gurudutta (33), accused Sujay Shah had visited the bank on Monday and was speaking in an angry tone.

The loud noise had made him come out of his cabin and he had inquired with Shah about the problem. According to the complaint, Shah had claimed that his mobile banking and netbanking was not activated despite several emails to bank. He threatened to take the CPU if they were not activated in 15 minutes.

Gurudutta claimed that while he was making efforts to get them activated, Shah removed the wiring of a CPU in the credit department that had several loan papers and account opening details and took it away. Gurudutta complained to bank’s regional office that directed him to file a police complaint.

PSI Vimal Chauhan told Mirror, “A complaint of snatching has been registered. We will collect the footage of the bank and then make the arrest.”
