It's LDF vs BJP in T'puram: Pannyan

Thiruvananthapuram: Even on the last day of campaigning for Lok Sabha elections, war of words between candidates in Thiruvananthapuram constituency continued on whether it was a triangular contest or a straight fight between UDF or LDF with BJP.

LDF candidate Pannyan Raveendran said on Wednesday that the fight was between LDF and BJP.

People of the constituency have rejected Tharoor since he has done nothing for the constituency in the past 15 years, he said.

“With campaigning reaching its threshold on the final day, it has become evident that BJP is fighting against us now. Moreover, Tharoor has lost all his support in the coastal areas, which had been his strength in past elections,” said Raveendran.

However, Tharoor has been projecting that the fight is between UDF and BJP since LDF is nowhere on the campaign front. Reacting to Raveendran’s comment, Tharoor said, “He was right. The fight is between LDF and BJP for the second position.”

Meanwhile, the BJP candidate was uninterested in joining this debate. “No leader or candidate can claim whether it is a straight fight or a triangular one. It is the people of this constituency who determine who is fighting who,” said Rajeev Chandrashekar.
