ITV This Morning fans all have same complaint over 'cringey' Alison and Dermot segment

fans were not impressed this morning as they begged for a "cringe" segment to "stop". On Friday (April 26) Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were rounding up the day's latest headlines on the ITV show when they highlighted a story about Prince William.

The royal family member had accidentally "shaded" comedian Jack Whitehall while making dad jokes at a school visit. William said he was "channelling" Jack, 35.

The Prince of Wales offered up a knock-knock joke and when pupils replied "who's there", William said "interrupting cow". The kids went to ask: "Interrupting cow who?" as he made them laugh by saying "moooooo" before they could finish the sentence.

The presenters of This Morning used this as an opportunity to showcase their own comedic sides. Regular guest Gyles Brandreth said: "What goes 'oom oom'?"

Alison said: "I don't know, what goes 'oom oom'?" Gyles delivered the punchline as he said: "A cow walking backwards" causing Alison to cackle with laughter. After that their own dad jokes continued for a considerable amount of time.

But fans at home were "cringing" over the segment and pleaded for it to "stop". Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "I've got a better joke... this show!" They followed their comment with a gif that said "dies from cringe".

Another user shared a gif with the words: "Make it stop" showing someone putting their head into their hands in dispair. A third fan asked: "Is this dire or what? #thismorning".

More fans thought that the hosts were being "fake". They said: "Forced laughter again. Attention seeking! #ThisMorning".

Another viewer added: "Fake as feck. Just shows the cackle is & always was put on #thismorning."

But not everyone hated it, as others joined in with the fun. One Twitter user shared a joke, writing: "Want to hear a joke about construction? I'm still working on it #thismorning."

Another added: "My dad never told me jokes. He bought me pints of beer. #ThisMorning."
