Jagraon civil hospital gets recognition from Centre

Ludhiana: Jagraon civil hospital has been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification by the Union ministry of health and family welfare.

The state government received the certificate on Thursday. The hospital was awarded the certificate after a two-day visit by the appointed members of the ministry which began from July 29.

The members visited 15 departments of the hospital. The team members among other things assessed the behaviour of staff with patients, staff record, cleanliness and services provided by the hospital.

Senior medical officer Dr Sukhjivan Kakkar said it is a matter of pride for the hospital to have become the only NQAS-certified hospital in the entire district.

He added that this certificate comes with an annual grant of Rs 10,000 per bed for three consecutive years, after which, the certificate will be reviewed. He said they would spend this amount for the welfare of patients and staff members.
