Jaipur mayor on surprise inspection on Ajmer Road

JAIPUR: Jaipur city mayor Vishnu Lahta went for a surprise inspection on Ajmer Road and near by colonies to check the sanitation facilities. He gave immediate orders of removing temporary encroachment by street vendors covering the city sideways and footpaths.


Encroachment and cleanliness has been a major issue over the past few weeks in the city.

Lahta gave orders to the officials to have inspection of ward nos. 12, 13 and 14 for garbage collection and take required action as soon as possible if required.

On June 29, Lahta went for another inspection in the interior lanes of the city and announced that 11 teams will be formed in which 100 sanitation workers will become a part of it. “Interior lanes of the city will be cleaned very soon. We will take action against the encroachment around the city which actually inconvenience the people, especially the old, children and women. Traffic jams are a common problem in the city due to encroachment by street vendors. We have given orders to take action against them” said Lahta.

Encroachment on the roads has become a major issue in the city and commuters have been complaining of the inconvenience caused to them everyday. Vendors selling vegetable and fruits have choked the entire road near the Lal Kothi vegetable market, causing mayhem. Vendors stand outside the market to sell their products to get customers easily. This has resulted in slowing up of the traffic in the area everyday.
