Jaipur: Wedding postponed after two sisters die in accident

JAIPUR: The tragic road accident near Sri Dungargarh in Bikaner on Monday pulled down the curtains on wedding festivities of a family as the two casualties out of 12 were sisters who were returning after shopping for their elder sibling's upcoming wedding on November 23. The sisters aged 19 and 24 were from Churu and were travelling along with a cousin but died on the spot of the accident.




The deceased sisters identified as 19-year-old Kajal Mishra and her elder sister, 24-year-old Nivedita Mishra who were travelling with five other relatives in the same bus. Their cousin Lalit Mishra (27) was also killed in the same accident while the remaining sustained injuries. The family is from Rajaldesar in Churu district .

When the bodies reached their village, it was an emotional moment for all the locals and even the shops were shut down owing to the untimely demise.

"The girls along with the relatives were coming back from Bikaner after shopping for their older sister's wedding next week. We are in a state of shock and do not know how to handle this loss. Both the girls were very intelligent and had high aspirations for their career but they died before they could achieve their dreams," said Vimal Bhati, a relative of the family. Both the girls were pursuing higher studies.

Following the news of the deaths, the family immediately postponed the forthcoming wedding.
