Jammu and Kashmir: Two Hizbul terrorists killed in Doda encounter, one soldier martyred

Srinagar: Two terrorists of terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter in a village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Veeragati was also received by an army soldier while fighting the terrorists. One of the slain terrorists is identified as Tahir alias Uqab.

He was a resident of Pulwama. He was involved in the murder of RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma in Kishtwar last year.

Giving information, officials said that the security forces carried out a joint operation in Posta-Potra village of Gundana area, 26 km from Doda town, after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. After this, the encounter started from both sides. He said that the hidden terrorists started firing shots in which an army soldier was seriously injured and died while on the way to the hospital. Jammu Zone Inspector General of Police Mukesh Singh said that two terrorists were killed in the encounter.

Let us tell you that this is the second encounter between security forces and terrorists in Doda district this year. Earlier on 15 January, Hizbul Mujahideen commander Aaron Abbas was killed in an encounter with security forces.
