It may be mentioned here that Uday, a father of two children, was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl. A case in this connection was filed on August 30, 2017 in Sidhgora police station in the city. The girl became pregnant after being raped.

The pregnancy was terminated after the survivor’s mother knocked the doors of Jharkhand high court . The court in its decision on October 15, 2017 had allowed the abortion. The mother had to approach the court as the doctors were not ready to terminate the pregnancy as they said there was a life risk for the girl.
