Korba ropes-in employers to counter tuberculosis

RAIPUR: Korba is now the first district in the state to implement the Employer-Led Model (ELM) for the eradication of Tuberculosis, according to TB Control officer Dr B R Ratre.

ELM is a comprehensive strategy to reach out to people working in public and private industrial or mineral ventures. It also integrates Tuberculosis care and prevention programmes .

In an effort to make the district TB-free, a workshop was organised in the district last week to encourage the employers to implement the ELM. Several industrialists and employers, with higher vulnerability of TB among employees , have agreed to implement the model.
