Kota police bust Madhya Pradesh gang, three arrested

Kota: Police have detained a minor boy and busted a gang of burglars from Sansi tribal community. “Three persons, identified as Rishikesh (23), the kingpin Sonu (29), and Kabir (19), have been arrested from Mukundra Forest in dara area of Kota district.

All are residents of Kadiya, Gulkhedi and Hulkhedi villages of Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh,” said Ganga Sahay Sharma, SHO at Kunhari police station of Kota city.

The accused during interrogation revealed about the functioning of the gang, he said adding that around 100 such gangs from Sansi tribal community are operational across the country.

The minor boys and girls from the three villages are trained in burglary and pick-pocketing. They are also trained to convey messages through body language and facial expressions and their parents are given handsome amounts. “The minor girls are first sent to the sites for recce. On their tip-off, the minor boys carry out burglaries from the wedding venues,” said the SHO. As soon as the mission gets over, the parents are paid their child’s share online as per the agreement which ranges from Rs 50,000 to two lakh.

They are given new clothes to wear before the burglary at a wedding or some other function’s venue. Children are used by gangs as legal provisions against them are not strict, the SHO said. The gang affords all expenses for legal procedures of the arrested member. When the cops inquire about any of the accused, none of the villagers shares any information about them.

Other members of the gang, including women, are likely to be arrested, the SHO said. tnn
