KVK Rajouri organises Live Telecast of address by PM Modi
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri under the directions of Vice Chancellor of Sher e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Jammu, Dr. K. S. Risam organized one day workshop on “National Animal Disease Control Programme and Artificial Insemination Programe”.
The programme started with Live Telecast of launch of national programme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Mathura.
A number of farmers along with sarpanches from different parts of the district participated in the workshop.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with department of animal husbandry and department of sheep husbandry, Rajouri.
Earlier, senior scientist and head of KVK Rajouri, Dr. Arvind Kumar Ishar welcomed the gathering and discussed in detail about the various schemes being implemented through KVK.
He informed that today’s workshop has been organized with the aim to aware the farmers about the importance of vaccination in preventing animal diseases and also about the importance of artificial insemination in breed improvement and productivity enhancement.
He also sensitized the farmers about “ Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi – PM Kisan” and “ Pradhan Mantri Kisan Mandhan Yojna” and motivated farmers to make use of these schemes.
Dr. Parul Gupta, coordinator of this workshop discussed in detail about the various diseases which are responsible for not only reduction in productivity but even mortality of some animals.
She informed about vaccination schedule for preventing various viral diseases viz FMD and Brucellosis in our local animals.
Chief animal husbandry officer Rajouri,
Dr. Mohammad Younis briefed about symptoms of the diseases and their management.
He awared the farmers about the various government sponsored schemes being implemented for the welfare of farmers.
He assured all possible help from his department for improving productivity of animals.
Dr. Sajjad, Dr. Aijaz, Dr. Shabnam and Dr. Mahapara from department of animal husbandry and department of sheep husbandry vaccinated the animals and also did artificial insemination in some animals.
The workshop ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Suraj Parkash, scientist of KVK.
