Vadodara: A land dispute took a violent turn in Bhalej town of Anand district when a group of persons attacked a farmer and two others on Thursday. The group allegedly wanted to take possession of the land.

An offence registered at the Bhalej police station by Sajidsha Diwan, a resident of Umreth, stated that he had purchased the land from Mangal Patel.

He added that there was a dispute regarding the land, but it was settled after a suit and his name was entered in the land records.

According to Diwan, Patel’s sons later made an agreement to sell the land with one Sikandarmiyan Sheikh. Diwan alleged that Sheikh had been trying to get possession of the land since quite some time now.
