LIVE News Updates: Supreme Court Bar Association to reopen Advocates chambers on Odd-Even basis from May 26
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has informed that Advocates chambers will be opened on an Odd-Even basis starting from today, i.e., May 26, according to Bar and Bench.
A circular issued to this effect also informs that Odd Number Chambers would be open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and, that Even Number Chambers would be open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The chambers would be open on these days from 10 am to 4 pm, except on Saturdays, when the chambers would be open from 10 am to 2 pm.

J&K Police arrested a youth on Tuesday in connection with the killings of two BSF troopers on May 20 in Ganderbal district.

The children, aged aged 5-10 years, are undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in the town, about 300 km from Adilabad.
RIMS Director Balram Banoth said condition of two children was serious, but under control. "The children are out of danger. But it will take 24 hours for total improvement," he said.
According to the police, the children in Khurshid Nagar and Sundarayya Nagar areas had pani puri from a pushcart vendor. After some time they started vomiting and suffered diarrhea. They were rushed to the hospital. By 11 p.m, the number of ill children increased to 40.

An airline spokesperson said the VT-IXC, operating as i51543 from Jaipur to Hyderabad, encountered a technical issue and carried out a precautionary engine shut down. The aircraft, carrying 70 passengers and six crew, landed safely around 1.25 p.m.
"We are carrying out detailed inspection of the aircraft, having informed DGCA. We are assisting in the investigation to find the cause," the spokesperson said.

The rupee appreciated 29 paise to close at 75.66 against the US dollar on Tuesday tracking weakness in the American currency, while easing of COVID-19 lockdown measures fuelled growth optimism.
At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 75.69, then gained ground and finally settled for the day at 75.66, registering a rise of 29 paise over its previous close.
On Friday, rupee had settled at 75.95 against the US dollar.
Forex market was closed on Monday for Id-Ul-Fitr.
During the trading session, the rupee witnessed an intra-day high of 75.62 and a low of 75.74.

Five persons, including a two-year-old girl, were killed after the car they were travelling in fell into a river in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Tuesday, police said.
The Kolkata-bound vehicle hit the divider on a bridge on National Highway 2 around 5 am and fell into the Khudia river. Four of a family, including the two-year-old girl, and the driver died on the spot, Govindpur police station in- charge Surendra Kumar Singh said.
A juvenile has been held in connection with the murder of a septuagenarian farmer, whose son is a senior officer in the Defence Ministry, police said on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his younger brother in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, incident took place at Unchagaon under Kairana Police Station in the district on Monday and was the fallout of a family dispute.
A case was registered against Satish Sharma for killing his brother Sanjay Sharma, police said.
In the FIR filed by their mother, it was alleged that the duo had a quarrel following which Satish Sharma thrashed Sanjay Sharma.
The accused is absconding, police said.

The body of Sitar Prajapati, a resident of Kamasin Road here, was found hanging from a tree near a pond on Monday afternoon, in charge of Oran police outpost Sultan Singh said.
Prajapati, who was a mason by profession, was tensed over his unemployment, his father Rameen said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, the police official said.
Woman with 2 minor daughters murdered in UP districtA woman with her two minor daughters were found murdered on Tuesday morning in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district.
The bodies of three were found on the banks of a dry pond in the Subhankheda Tikra village, the police said. The deceased woman has been identified as Sarojini and her two daughters are Shivani, 7, and Roshni, 5.
According to the police, all three were killed by strangulation and were then thrown on the banks of the pond.
Sarojini's husband Anantu and his brother have been taken into custody and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Veer and Additional SP Dhawal Jaiswal told reporters that initial evidences pointed to the involvement of the husband and his brother in the crime.
The dog squad and forensic expert team have also been called on the spot.

A fire broke out in a shoe factory in northwest Delhi's Keshavpuram on Tuesday morning, an official of the Delhi Fire Service said.
So far, no casualty has been reported in the incident, the official said, adding that the cause behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
A call about the fire was received at 8.34 am after which 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, said Atul Garg, Director of Delhi Fire Service.
In another incident, around 250 huts were gutted in a blaze that broke out in southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad village on late Monday night.

After a day's lull, Pakistan again violates ceasefire on LoCPakistan army on Tuesday again violated the bilateral ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) by resorting to unprovoked shelling in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
Colonel Devender Anand, Defence Ministry spokesman, said: "Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Balakote sector today."
"Indian army is retaliating befittingly," he added.
Pakistan has made a practice of violating ceasefire on the LoC as senior army officers hold that the same is done to facilitate infiltration of terrorists into the Indian side.
